The mathematics program strives to develop students’ ability to think logically, critically, and creatively about the patterns and structures that permeate mathematics and the world more generally. At the core of the math curriculum is the careful development of an elegant mathematical framework built upon a logical foundation. Working within that framework, students learn to think meaningfully about difficult ideas, tackle challenging problems, and precisely communicate their results. In doing so, students develop skills that will be valued highly as they progress onward, whether that is into the workforce or on to graduate school.
