This course examines the tumultuous period of United States history from the 1960s to the present. Topics include the social upheavals of the 1960s, and the return to conservatism which began in 1968 and accelerated in the 1980s and 1990s. The course will focus on the ways in which the developments of the era affected different groups of Americans and will also examine the culture and politics of each decade.
