HIS 3765 - Museums And Archives

This class introduces students to museums and archives by emphasizing their history and by framing them in the context of the development of public history. Students will analyze them as dynamic social constructs that reflect the values and worldviews of their creators and constituents. Students will also learn about the key functions of museums and archives, including collections management, fundraising, interpretation, and organizational structures. The course will include guidance on professional development in the field.
