PED 3470 - Sports Law

This junior or senior level course is the study of the legal implications of tort and liability that affects athletic competition both on and off the playing field of athletics. This course is an introduction to sports law in intercollegiate and professional sports, discussing areas such as drug testing, Title IX, antitrust and labor laws, collective bargaining salary caps, free agency, and issues of race and violence. The course emphasizes fundamental legal principle that are applicable to sports.
