COM 3280 - Media Literacy

This course instructs students on how to think critically and intelligently about the media they consume and create in our ever-changing media landscape. Students will learn to use media more intentionally; break down media messages by considering intent, context, and sources; learn to navigate misinformation and verify facts; discuss ethical media use; explore the role of media in a Democratic society; and consider media issues surrounding privacy, culture and sense of self. By the end of the course, student should have a better understanding of the impact of media on our world and how to use it more responsibly.
