The degree program in computer science is designed to prepare students for entry-level employment in computer applications and to provide background necessary for graduate work in computer science. The curriculum is designed to meet the standards of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

Math and Science Requirements


15 Additional Upper Division Hours of Coursework


Nine (9) hours must be in Computer Science - One 2000-level programming course (not already used) may be used to partially fulfill this requirement. The remaining courses must be selected from CSC, DSC, SWE, MIS, and MTH courses or PHY 3030 (electronics).

Total Credit Hours: 77-80


* Will satisfy the Liberal Arts Core (the department recommends Physics)

All students seeking a degree in Computer Science must perform satisfactorily on comprehensive examinations administered by the department. The examinations will cover the computer science core courses.
