Business Administration and Management, Major in Economics, B.A.

Candidates for the Bachelor of Arts degree must include 12 credit hours of courses in the humanities (English, history, foreign language, literature, philosophy, or visual and performing arts) at the 3000-level or higher as part of the minimum 120 hours required for the baccalaureate. Foreign language courses numbered 2010 and 2020 may also be counted to meet part of the 12-hour requirement.

Business and Economics Departmental Core Requirements


All majors in the Department must complete each of the courses listed below with a grade of “C” or better. Students should generally complete all lower-division courses in the Core before scheduling upper-division courses in their major. Students must take Core courses in a structured sequence by satisfying prerequisites for each course in the Core.

Students should consult with their academic advisor to select four courses from the following list:

Restricted Upper-Division Electives


Students choose 15 additional hours of upper-division electives from the Department’s upper-division accounting course offerings in accounting (ACC), business administration (BUS), economics (ECO), entrepreneurial (ENT), finance (FIN), hospitality (HTM), management (MGT), or marketing (MKT). Credit(s): 15 “C” or better

Total Credit Hours: 60
